A weekly update for families — May 25, 2026
Over the past few weeks, we’ve welcomed our founding Kindergarten, Pre-K, and now 3K families to West Q.
And with each round of offers, one thing has become clearer to me: our first year is going to feel very different from most schools.
This September, West Q will open with only our youngest learners. No upper grades. No hundreds of older students already filling the building. Just a small community of children beginning school together for the very first time.
That creates a rare opportunity.
It means we can build routines, relationships, and school culture intentionally from the start around what young children actually need. It means our youngest students won’t simply be entering an existing system - they’ll be at the center of it.
For families, I think that’s something special to consider.
I know choosing a new school comes with questions, especially when the school itself is brand new. But I also believe there is something powerful about starting small, growing slowly, and creating a school experience where children and families are truly known from day one.
To everyone who has already accepted their offer: thank you for being part of our founding year. And to families still considering West Q, I’m always happy to connect and answer questions as you make your decision for September.
Warmly,
Suzanne Sheerin
